HIDDEN SAN DIEGO GOLF COURSE – PAUMA VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB / PAUMA¹

golf lessons tips 20 Comments »

WATCH PART 2 HERE – https://youtu.be/CNVt1cUq60U

This hidden San Diego course is Pauma Valley Country Club and even though its not actually hidden, its a good hike away from everything. I only found out about this course a few years ago and was surprised I’d never heard of it.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1957 – this course was designed to be a championship level golf course. It measures 7,077 yards from the tips, par 71. Rating is 74.2/133.

This is one of those courses that you can play 100 times and not get bored. Some of the holes can be uneventful if you’re finding fairways but as soon as you’re even slightly out of position you’re in big trouble. One of the biggest factors on this course is wind. Being at the bottom of the valley it usually has a stead 15-20 mph wind that gets stronger in the afternoon.

If you’re looking for an affordable, championship level course in San Diego to join, you’d be hard pressed to pass on Pauma Valley. Monthly dues are around 0 which makes it one of more affordable private clubs we’ve ever visited. Considering the condition and all the amenities it offers like dining, fitness center, pool, tennis courts and even a wood shop, I think its one of the best values in town.
