Golf Tips For Wedges That Improve Swing Plane
help with golf December 9th. 2018, 9:30am
Golfers of all skill sets are using the wedges incorrectly everyday.
In the interest of improving our overall swing plane, we’ve developed specific golf tips that target the vital adjustments needed to improve our wedge game.
Swing plane, or the vertical angle between the ground and the circle that the club head travels on during our downswing, relies on a golfer’s height and dynamic swing posture for effect and accuracy.
Adjustments must be made based on the specifications, but the golf tips presented in our material will assist players in identifying areas that require attention in their own swing style.
Having a tight wedge game will ensure even your worst days on the golf course go well and your best days make you a stand out among your golf buddies.
Distance control, the most important area of adjustment in regards to swinging wedges, requires a meeting between arms and our overall body rotation.
These elements must arrive on top of our backswing simultaneously or a poor shot will be the result.
Adding to the length of our backswing will depend on the length of our clubs, as longer clubs tend to require a slight increase in distance beyond the natural turn of our body.
Good wedge work requires a decent amount of backspin, resulting in the golf ball stopping on the green.
Increased backspin requires a wedge club that has a high loft factor, often found in lobs and sand wedges (not your lunch!) which assist in distance control.
Golfers should not want to strike their wedges any higher than needed to stop their golf ball near the hole.
One of the most useful golf tips concerning an improved wedge game suggests that golfers should aim to hit through the ball rather than simply striking at the golf ball.
When golfing, the ball does not exist as the final objective of a golf swing.
The golf ball represents an obstruction that exists in the path of a perfect swing.
Remembering to act as if the golf ball simply exists as an obstacle to be swung through over the swing plane will greatly increase your success with wedges and all of the clubs you carry to the course.

I hit my drives better (not great but definitely better) when I use the step to the right technique to actually hit balls, I think I also saw Padraig Harrington do this during a tournament recently. I've always struggled getting onto you right toe in the follow through and this has transformed my weight shift but would you suggest I persevere with this or should I try not to move my feet? Many thanks for your great videos.

Outside of the spine tilt, do these same moves apply to the iron swing? I'm going to post this question to one of Robin's videos I saw recently as well…think it was 6 elements or places to get to in the swing or something like that…

Bro, you are a great instructor. 90 is my heartache because I can’t consistently get below that number. Can’t wait to work on these tips. Thanks, Clay!

Love your instruction. You are my go to online golf guru. Why do I block right?

Good job Clay, we always call this the "Half Happy Gilmore", kids love it! Notice the front foot instinctively landing just as Hogan described. Also can be incorporated into club throwing fun!

Best instructional video I've seen in a long time. Excellent

I've developed the perfect swing technique that I can use to get someone hitting the ball straight and long. It's based off of a movement that everyone knows. I got people at the range asking if I can teach them because they see my ball flight and contact. Guess what, I developed it from a video that Clay put out a while back, but the concept is framed differently.
