I believe that you should keep central in the backswing, not behind it look at what tiger woods is working on, modern clubs mean u don't need to shift to the right

Excellent and simple D-plane explanation Mark.

Great video on explaining the D-Plane and the "Out to in" Take away in the back swing which I tend to suffer.
Thank Mark for this video.

Hello Mark, great job with the videos. Doesn't the distance produced by the lower lofted clubs also amplify the flight and off center result concerning the D plane as you described it?

Just to clarify what Mark is saying-the driver face will point more right with a 5 degree open face than a wedge because the face is more horizontal. If the face was 0 degrees loft think about where the face would aim if you moved it 5 degrees open. If it was 90 degrees loft and you moved the face it would still point straight up if you moved the face direction.

Your videos just get better and better, and by a not so amazing coincidence, so does my golf. 🙂

wow.. this is the most complicated explanation of a slice that i've ever seen

To add to the D-plane talk, most people are trying to hit a driver on an upward angle. If they do, this shifts the 'true' path left. Hogan shifted baseline right with his driver for a reason: it helped zero out his path.

i have problem on hitting behind the ball as well since i understand this. I really have hard to try to transfer weight back forward. It feel like your head stays behind but you need to put your weight transfer to the front in order the hit the shot clean. Normal players have flexibility for this??

I love your straight forward common sense approach. I do this drill with and without the stick. Without the stick even with ball on tee my shots dont have the authority that the do with the stick. I have a good imagination. Just doesn't work as well eithout stick

Mark,
I'm a very amateur player looking for a first driver. I've started off with irons and a putter I feel very comfortable with, but I'm looking to expand beyond working on my short game. Any advice on a driver for a new player would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Great vid as always Mark. Any suggestions for those of us who practice at a non-grass range where you can't stick alignment sticks in the ground?

Great tip. Do you have any tips to hit the ball higher? I hit all of my clubs low except the wedges.

Go Team Sweden

yes your hips can go to far forward into the ball, often its because of a strong grip and you are trying to not hit left.

hello Mark 🙂
Could you do a video on over-swinging? My left arm breaks down at the top of my backswing. Im not sure why..? Should I focus on hinging or perhaps takeaway? Also, would you recommend the "Straight Arm Swing Trainer " – it looks like something for me but Im not sure.
As always: great video!!! 🙂 /christian from DK
