Here I show an easier way to swing a golf club. It is more efficient then the traditional swing, and provides more accuracy and distance. I compare my swing to the swing of Iron Byron.

Thank you Kirk,
This is a great video that makes a lot of sense and answers questions I have always had about your arms being straight at impact. When I would try to hit an iron shot with my arms straight I would always dig the toe into the ground. I signed up for your lifetime membership over this past weekend and discovered my problem with the setup video. I am looking forward to improving my ball striking with your program and drills. Thank you again. Also for the great price on the lifetime membership.

ok so I have been playing since I was 4, and have a swing that looks like Colin Montgomery…So I know how to swing it the conventional tour style, but I struggle with fading the ball off and other issues with my pitch shots. I have experienced with this Moe stuff a little bit with some suprising results but its hard for me to commit to it because for one its awkward and second its hard to throw away everything that I've learned as a child and change it completely.

I think Steve Stricker uses this method too and he has had an excellent career and continues to play well now that he is over 50. I actually use it too, without even knowing, then
one day a fellow golfer commented to me that i use the single plane method

Whoops. Not even "Every tour player" does this. It's physiological. The arms straighten as if swinging an ax. To start an ax-swing stiff and upright would be ineffective.

Agree completely!!!

Anybody hear of Bryson Dechambeau?

My swing always suffers from one of two problems: 1) The height of my swing is either bladed or hugely low (perhaps because of knee bending?) 2) My hands do not always rotate to square up at impact, resulting in sliced balls

PGA tour players can earn about $1M dollars each weekend if they win….Tis a LOT of incentive right? If those guys on tour aren't making this change I find it hard to believe it's better; if it was, they'd do it. Now maybe it IS better for us average hacks, that could be true. Not saying this can't work, but I doubt it's any easier to play significantly better. You STILL have to swing on a straight target line, have a squared face at impact, hit the face center, have good club head speed, good tempo and stop casting, etc…. I just don't see this new swing fixing those other problems most of us have and fight…. golf is just darn hard for everyone. Now having said all of that… Of course I'll try it later today. Hah. (if it helps, i'll post)

There was a video in the 90's called natural golf based on Moe Normans single plane, same as you show . I did it for a while but went to conventional. I'm now 58 and had my HC down to 10 and playing best golf of my life. Wonder if it's to Kate for me to change now

That's how Bryson Dechambeau swings

What the instructor fails to acknowledge is that this "uncocked" setup position makes it harder to hinge up the wrists in the backswing in order to create leverage. The reason players like Day have the right arm/clubshaft in a near straight line at impact is because they are uncocking aggressively in the downswing. In short, you have to get the wrists cocked in the backswing in order to uncock aggressively in the downswing. Most golfers will lose a lot of distance if they try this Moe Norman/Bryson DeChambeau setup position.
