I have an older set of clevland c2 and I want to get a new set. I'm very new at golf and want to get a set that won't break my bank, have some forgiveness and still make me practice great form/technique when I hit. I'm 6'3" and I feel like I need longer clubs because I feel like I a little too bent over when I hit which makes me raise and lower during my swing. Any recommendations or tips that would assist me in finding the right club?

It is all about making money. No company can survive if they don't sell new equipment. If they have to deceive you to make a sale then so be it. I play clubs (Callaway X22) that are a few years old and I cannot see they point in paying thousand of rands for clubs that can still miss the greens just to be socially accepted. I will still beat you with skill, clubs do not make you better.

Well said, your opinions are correct. If the club head has been de-lofted, (strengthened) the ball flight will be lowered and offer a lot less back spin.

I play ISI-K clubs, they are about 20 years old. I always thought everyone was stronger than me because my 7 goes 155 and everyone elses goes 165-170. Boy was I shocked to find out that my 7 is their 5.5.

I'm playing a set of Titleist 690mb blades from the 00's and went golfing with a significantly higher handicapper last week. On a 210 yard par 3 I nailed a 4 iron into the front half of the green, my playing partner asks what I hit and proceeds to hit his 4 iron which airmails the green! He turns to me and says "Jesus I never realized I was so much longer than you with an iron". I then proceeded to hit HIS 7 iron onto the front of the green and said "Jesus I never realized I was so much longer than you 😜" .
The lofts on modern cavity backs are an absolute joke. It's false gains and players are being duped into buying these! This Video is 100% right IMO!!

Okay I'm not going to rehash this but I can tell you I went from RSI 1 Irons to P770 irons total different irons but I hit them both the same distance Iron to iron 8 in both is 150 carry 7 in both 160 carry 3 degrees difference in each. spin is much higher with p770 my guess is spin is keeping it in the air longer Dynamic loft might be close to the same.

Really helpful and gave me something to consider as I’m looking to buy a new set soon. Reading a few of the comments it looks like one of the solutions is to make sure you go to a good fitter and not some guy in a shop looking to sell his next set of clubs. Hopefully wherever I go for a fitting they will run through my whole set and I’ll get some good help. Thanks for making the video.

Great information brother

I've always wondered why the PGA doesn't step in here. I'm still hitting a 1988 set of Hogan irons. It's funny to hear people give me grief because they hit their seven iron as far as I hit my six and so on.

I took a lot of time off golf (16 years) for one reason or another. I play now with a set of Ping i3 Blades from 2004 or something. Antiques bought these second hand, because they were cheap. I was thinking about some new irons, loved the look of the Piing i500 and the promise of extra distance, players irons looks but still forgiving. I hit the ball high in general so strong lofts sounded great to me, but the extra distance is definitely because the i500 7iron has the loft of my current 6 iron. Now I don't know what to do or what is a 7iron anymore. Currently playing off around 10, perhaps I should start a youtube channel. Thoughts / suggestions? Rob your videos are great mate, thanks and keep up the good work!

but does it have a 7 iron launch angle based on CG or other tech?
November 13th, 2018 at 1:51 pm
I guess I am old fashioned. I like a simple clean look to my clubs with few if any angular areas. I also like forged irons.

Golf store conversation.
Golf pro: Hey how’s it going, help you find anything in particular?
Me: No, I can’t can’t afford shit!
Presto no more golf pro tryna sell you something.

That was a spectacular video

I stay away from hybrids, because I enjoy hitting the irons better. I don’t see much of a difference in difficulty. Hybrids I will use if in the first or second cut, where the grass is higher than the ball. The only hybrid I use at least once or twice per round, is my 3-wood, which is about 250 yards for me. I prefer 3-iron, which for me goes about 220 yards.

Terrible ball striking. Never making it in this game. Get a real job
November 13th, 2018 at 6:53 pm
That last 2-iron is the kind of shot that keeps you playing this ridiculous game.
